Colombia Earthquake: Information and Ways to Help
Initiative launched: August 2026.
Following the earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10, 2026, Flor Naciente created a bilingual public-information and awareness initiative to help bring broader attention to the emergency and make it easier for the public to reach the official websites of independent humanitarian organizations.
Flor Naciente does not solicit or receive donations arising from this initiative. It does not administer, act as an intermediary for, or channel funds; receive commissions or benefits; represent the Colombian Government; coordinate the humanitarian response; or act on behalf of the organizations it links to. Each organization determines how it uses and manages its funds under its own policies.
Standards for Our Updates
Identifiable Information
Each update must state its date and distinguish verified facts, Flor Naciente's own activities, and information originating from third parties.
Precise Scope
Publications must explain Flor Naciente's role and avoid presenting an informational action, historical relationship, or limited participation as current implementation, partnership, or endorsement.
Visible Corrections
When material information changes or requires correction, the publication must be updated transparently and identify the date of the change when relevant.
Protection of People
Updates must not publish unnecessary personal information, unauthorized images, or content that exposes or stigmatizes communities or people experiencing vulnerability.
